Pinchot Sycamore

The Pinchot Sycamore is the largest tree in CT. The trunk is so enormous and the tree so immense, I had to stand a substantial distance away to get most of the tree in the picture. Frankly, a picture just doesn't do it justice. As always, just click on the picture to enlarge it.

How about now? See the little guy at the base of the tree?
This gives you a better idea. Thankfully Gizzy's Pawpa (6' 2" tall) offered to stand next to it so you could get an idea of how large it really is. (Doesn't he look like he's thinking "would you just press the button...PLEASE"?)

I like the look of that peeling branch.

Giz that is one GIGORMOUS tree. The entire town could have a picnic under the shade of that tree. Oh my word. I've never heard of that type of sycamore. Please thank your Mom and Dad for taking the road trip to snap this picture. I bet you didn't see any kitties in that monster tree.
