Under Water

No mighty oaks will grow from THESE acorns. The oak by the reservoir has very high branches hanging over the water and the velocity gained while falling causes the acorns to hit the water with a fairly loud THWACK. The source of the noise was a befuddlement for Mom 'til she figured it out. There's a bunch of acorns in the water under that tree.

Morning Giz and Mom,
What a lovely picture. I can nearly hear the rippling water.

Now I know what to do to keep little oak trees from sprouting in my yard. Build a lake around the oak tree!

They are hitting our roof, too, and when I go out I hear their little cracks and whacks.
