Enjoying the sun

Mallards from the small pond next door taking a swim on the larger reservoir.
The DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) visited the duck pond not long ago with a large net to catch and band the ducks. They are released after they are banded. I have not seen how they aim the net but it makes a large explosion when it's "shot" out over the ducks. Our neighbor calls ahead of time to let us know when there will be an early morning explosion.

Morning Giz and Mom,
Very pretty picture today. I bet that would be some sight to see the big net swoop down on the ducks!!!
However, the big noise I could live without.
Odd as it may sound Madi does not go under the bed. Very surprising too since our first cat spent lots of time under it.

I love ducks. That net must give them a scare.

I've been to banding stations for birds before, but I've never heard how they net the ducks! It must stun them so they can get the data!

Nice tranquil view in the sun on the pond!

Gizzy dont' let them catch and band you. It doesn't sound too good to me.
