Now that the rain and warm temps have melted the top layer of snow, we have a visual picture of the method of movement used by the chipmunks that live in the stone walls. Tunnels. As you can see .. there are more than a few false starts. The path on the right is the path to the bird feeder and the many seeds dropped on the ground by the birds.

What a labyrinth of tunnels they've made! Too fool the fox that wanders through no doubt! :)
I haven't seen a chipmunk around here in a long time...we have bunches of mole tunnels in the yard!
